Hello! I am Xiaotong Xi (郗晓彤), a lecturer in the School of Foreign Studies at Shandong University of Finance and Economics (Jinan, China). I earned my PhD in Translation and Language Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain).
My PhD thesis explored the benefits of incorporating pedagogical hand gestures into phonetic training on the learning of L2 sounds. I also want to examine whether and how various individual differences come into play. Additionally, as a learner of L2 Spanish myself, I am particularly interested in how Mandarin-speaking learners acquire Spanish pronunciation.
